Stop Alzheimer’s With a Healthy Heart
Dr. Crandall in his Heart Health Report says it is not true that there’s nothing anyone can do about the Alzheimer’s disease.
“I’ve seen it from research, and I’ve seen it in the patients I’ve treated. If you are heart healthy, there is a high likelihood that your brain will stay sharp well into old age.”
Hardened Arteries Trigger Alzheimer’s
“The brain is a glutton for blood; in fact it uses 20-25% of the blood the heart pumps. Therefore, any reduction in blood flow damages the brain, and can pave the way for Alzheimer’s disease”, states Dr. Crandall.
I was fascinated with Dr Weil’s book on Guide to Healthy Eating. An article that caught my attention was on Turmeric. Now a growing body of evidence suggests that this brightly colored relative of ginger may help reduce risks of several diseases, probably because it is the most powerful natural anti-inflammatory agent discovered thus far. Turmeric has an important place in an anti-inflammatory diet. It contains more than two-dozen anti-inflammatory compounds, including six different natural COX-2- inhibitors
In a review of some 700 studies, respected ethno-botanist James A. Duke PhD, concluded that turmeric appears to outperform many pharmaceuticals in its effects against several chronic debilitating diseases, and does so with virtually no adverse side effects.
Duke identified more than 50 studies on turmeric’s potentially protective role in Alzheimer’s disease. The reports indicate that extracts of turmeric contain a number of constituents that block the formation of beta-amyloid, the substance responsible for the plaques that slowly obstructs cerebral function in Alzheimer’s disease.
I turned also to Sanoviv Medical Institute for their thoughts on Alzheimer Disease
The medical staff also agrees the gradual loss of brain function has been associated with plaques and tangles in the brain as well as a variety of other causes including genetics, heavy metal toxicity, environmental pollutants(an inability of the body to effectively remove toxins) and oxidative stress. “Since Alzheimer’s is a degenerative disease, management of one’s personal health is important!”
Now that we have gone over the “UGLY” effects of this devastating disease let’s turn again to the POSITIVE STEPS we can take to have more control over our health in regards to this and other nasty diseases!
Sanoviv’s Dietary Recommendations
Since Alzheimer Disease may be associated with food sensitivities, try the SANOVIV ELIMINATION DIET which eliminates and helps to identify common food allergens.
Strictly avoid all artificial sweeteners (sucralose/Splenda, saccharin, aspartame) and food additives and preservatives(especially Monosodium Glutanate-MSG)
Avoid pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals by eating organic fruits and vegetables
Eliminate alcohol and caffeine
Eat 4-8 tsp. of coconut oil daily. (Costco has a large organic coconut oil)
Strictly avoid deep fried foods and processed oils as these may worsen symptoms. Our brains are made up of mostly fats. The right type of fat is beneficial to our brains and thought processes. The wrong type of fat may promote brain degeneration.
Drink green tea regularly
Engage in regular exercise. Some research found significant improvement on 4 cognitive measures after 3 months of an aerobic exercise program.
Engage in cognitive activities, such as reading and writing.
