If high blood pressure is left uncontrolled, you may wind up with a disability, a poor quality of life or even a fatal heart attack.
Fortunately, with treatment and lifestyle changes, you can control your high blood pressure to reduce your risk of life-threatening complications.”….Mayo Clinic
I am going to quickly list a few of the “uglies” about high blood pressure then move on to what positive steps you might consider to improve your blood pressure numbers.
High Blood Pressure left uncontrolled can cause:
- Damage to your arteries (artery damage and narrowing, aneurysm)
- Coronary artery disease
- Enlarged left heart (This causes the left ventricle to thicken or stiffen) This condition increases your risk of heart of heart attack, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death.
- Heart Failure
- Damage to your brain ( Just like your heart, your brain depends on a nourishing blood supply to work properly and survive.
- TIA (mini stroke)
- Damage to the kidneys
The list goes on… If you care to see more details then go to mayoclinic.org
