The Power in Green Smoothies
D.K. As I gathered information about the “possible” cause of Parkinson’s I kept seeing the word “toxin overload”. Maybe, just maybe, green smoothies could provide a lot of antioxidants to fight the free radicals ( which are the bad guys that cause cell damage)
Making a green smoothie just takes minutes but so worth it!
“So what is so incredible about consuming these green leafy greens?
It is all about nutrient density. Nutrient per calorie ratio, there are more nutrients in greens than any other foods.
A current metas study from Yale University examined thousand of nutritional and diet research studies, and concluded that eating plants, especially greens, prevent disease.
D.K. I make various types of green juices most days. I have tried every green in combination with limited fruits. Sometimes I just add water, other times I use coconut water. I add walnuts and pomegranates as I heard that is excellent for the brain. Some days I add protein powder. I freeze organic fruits (I buy at Costco or Whole Foods) and add them for different flavorings.
I purchase fresh ginger and turmeric which also gets tossed in with a few drops of cinnamon extract! (Great for inflammation which helps with joint pain and the brain!)
I don’t follow a recipe but I will look for some to include at a future date.
I encourage you to try juicing! I love fresh juice every day. It sure gives me energy!!
